How do I choose a product and find its documentation?

Choose your model in the product catalog, then open its detail page for specifications and related documents. Check the product generation before using installation instructions.

Which fluid should I use for my brake?

Follow the markings and manual for your exact model. Do not apply another model’s fluid requirements to your brake. If you cannot identify it, send the model and product photos to sales or technical support for confirmation.

The LH4 and LHT manuals below specify mineral oil as the factory fill. The archived BB2 manual requires the fluid and lever to match the purchased DOT or mineral-oil version; the name “BB2” alone does not identify the fluid.

What torque should I use for the hose fitting?

Installation requirements depend on the model and fitting. Check the matching installation documents. If the documents and hardware differ, or the model is unclear, ask technical support before proceeding; do not identify a fitting by similar appearance alone.

These values apply only to the SL / SLR fitting assemblies in the linked manuals. The caliper-side connector and hose compression nut are separate interfaces; these are not values for other fittings, bleed screws or pad pins.

SLR · standard aluminum fitting24.5
SLR · super-light fitting2.35–6

Select a fitting name to see the original assembly diagrams: SL on PDF page 2, SLR on page 3. A qualified technician should identify the hardware against the diagrams and follow the complete instructions. Stop and contact technical support if the version is uncertain. This table does not specify BB2 hose-fitting torque.

How do I identify a G1 or G2 service kit for LH4 or LHT?

When asking about a service kit, include the lever and caliper models, visible identification numbers and clear photos. Ask sales to confirm the generation and parts rather than choosing a kit by the family name alone.

The original LH4 / LHT service-kit identification guide uses the lever bracket, not just the caliper or product color:

  • G1: no mark in the indicated area AND no rear set-screw hole. It uses the shorter piston sleeve, retained by a circlip.
  • G2: identifying marks include X, a, a1 or a1(1), with a set-screw hole in the bracket. It uses the longer sleeve, retained by set screws.
G1: no generation mark in the indicated area
G1: no generation mark in the indicated area
G1: no set-screw hole on the back of the lever bracket
G1: no set-screw hole on the back of the lever bracket
G2: examples of X, a, a1 or a1(1) markings
G2: examples of X, a, a1 or a1(1) markings
G2: set-screw hole in the lever bracket
G2: set-screw hole in the lever bracket

These original reference photos retain their identification annotations; select one to view the original. If the markings or structure do not match, send front and rear bracket photos for confirmation instead of assigning a generation. This is an identification guide, not a complete service procedure or a claim of compatibility with other models.
